Applying the PMBOK to Achieve Project Management Success

1. PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT COURSE

Leverage the world-class value of the PMBOK in an easy to follow project implementation format that establishes a step-by-step process on how to successfully structure a project to achieve the desired project results in an efficient and expedited manner.

Project Managers, candidates for the PMP examination and organizational leaders and achievers equally benefit from learning the tools, techniques, network diagrams, WBS’s, project lifecycles, project management office (PMO) governance structures, and chronological steps needed to successfully plan and implement a world-class project.

2. CURRENT STATE OF PMBOK-BASED TRAINING COURSES

Current PMBOK courses tend to focus on the structure of the project management methodology, and cover the ten Knowledge Areas, forty-seven Project Management Processes, and the five Project Management Process Groups.  The enormity of the material covered in the typical PMBOK-focused course, with the methodology structure, inputs, tools and techniques, and outputs, as well as the first three introductory chapters that cover the context of project management, leave very little time to cover the steps necessary to actually apply the material to successfully complete a project.

3. VALUE PROPOSITION OF THE “APPLYING THE PMBOK TO ACHIEVE PROJECT SUCCESS” COURSE

The “Applying the PMBOK to Achieve Project Success” course provides a PMBOK-based, step by step approach to actually initiating, planning and achieving the goals/scope of a project. Great value is attained as re-usable templates are provided for use with each key activity for each phase of the project lifecycle. The final result is maximized as all of this project work is done within the context of Project Management Office (PMO) structure!

  1. Follow a set step-by-step process to complete a project with the PMBOK methodology.
